State Level Data

This graph reflects the same data as in the "State Counties" page, aggregated to state level.

"Out Of State" is our estimate of the percent of 2020 out of state movers to a state that are Democrats. This is calculated from a combination of ACS data and TargetSmart partisanship scores. It is not limited to registered voters, and instead reflects the percent that would be considered "likely Democrats" from their TS score alone.

Net Population and Net Democrats both reflect the net effect of movers going to and leaving the state in 2020.
